The Limestone brand

An open, AI-native electronic lab notebook. The identity fuses a plain-text [[wikilink]] with layers of sediment that double as a tidy, ordered list of notes.

One mark, three tokens, and a type system reconciled with the wider American Wetware brand — sharing the same green and paper, and borrowing a supporting palette.

Brand features

What makes the identity recognizable and how the pieces fit together.

One fused mark

A bracketed stack of three layers stepping wider toward the base. The wide green foot forms an implied L.

Bracket meaning

The [[ ]] is the wikilink container — every note is a linkable plain-text file. Portability and transparency, built in.

Sediment layers

The bars are sediment strata and an ordered list at once. Older layers below, recent notes stacked above.

Green as anchor

A single brand hue, #2FBF39, on the logo foot. Constant across light and dark, and identical to American Wetware's Core Green.

Role-swap tokens

Just three colors. Paper and ink swap between background and foreground across modes; green never moves.

Two wordmarks

Mutually exclusive: limestone with the mark, or [[limestone]] standalone. Brackets appear in one or the other, never both.

Color

Three core colors. The two shades swap roles between light and dark; the green is constant and is the single brand hue.

Reconciled with American Wetware

Limestone is a product of American Wetware, and the brand is aligned with the corporate system:

  • Shared anchors: green #2FBF39 and paper #FBFFF6 are identical to AWW Core Green and Core White — no reconciliation needed.
  • Adopted: Inter as the body typeface, plus a supporting palette (links, states, washes, data-viz) borrowed from AWW Style Guide v2.
  • Variant offered: AWW Core Midnight #1C1E35 as an alternative ink for surfaces that sit beside AWW materials.
  • Preserved: the mark geometry, the green accent, and Space Mono for the wordmark — the recognition anchors.
